In a torrential downpour, we headed off on what ended up being a 16 hour bike leg. This was just after leading a pack horse up and over a mountain range in the same storm.
After raining all night, the mud was baked on our bodies by the afternoon heat- pulling off small pieces of skin as it scaled.
We brought crayons, colored pencils, markers, and other school supplies to a school in Gramado and spoke to the kids about adventure racing. Afterwards, they drew pictures about the race.
